The Barrister Group has been awarded a Wellbeing Certificate of Recognition by the Bar Council.
The Wellbeing at the Bar programme, funded by the Bar Representation Fee (BRF), aims to equip barristers and chambers personnel with the skills and resources needed to take care of their mental wellbeing. It acknowledges the emotional and psychological challenges faced by barristers and chambers’ staff on a daily basis, and looks to implement preventative measures against ill health as well as to support those already in difficulty or crisis.
The Barrister Group was one of twelve chambers in England and Wales to have been issued the award, and was praised for its continuous work and dedication to wellbeing.
Lauren Coupar-Evans, Barrister Membership Officer, said, "I am delighted to announce that The Barrister Group has been awarded the Bar Council Certificate of Recognition for Wellbeing - this certificate acknowledges the huge effort that chambers are putting in to support the wellbeing of barristers, clerks and chambers staff.
We are so incredibly proud of our chambers' ethos of inclusivity, diversity and accessibility, and our staff and membership's commitment to fostering a supportive, collegiate environment where a healthy work-life balance can be achieved, and practices and careers can be developed.
Our dedication to wellbeing will never end, and we will continue to build on the foundations that we have laid, bring people together, and provide more resources over the coming weeks, months and years."
