About Gilbert

Gilbert is an Advocate of the High Court of the Republic of Kenya, having been called to the Bar in 2017. Between 2017 and 2021, he practised as an Advocate at Kinoti & Kibe Co. Advocates in Nairobi, where he handled matters spanning civil litigation, public law, land disputes, and employment law. 

Immediately prior to joining the Barrister Group, Gilbert worked as a County Court Advocate with LPC Law between 2022 and 2026, where he accepted instructions in a broad range of civil matters, including mortgage possession proceedings, landlord and tenant disputes, infant settlements, interim applications, and small claims.

Gilbert has developed a substantial civil litigation practice, with particular experience in County Court advocacy and dispute resolution. He is regularly instructed in a broad range of civil matters, including 

  • possession proceedings
  • landlord and tenant disputes
  • mortgage possession claims
  • interim applications
  • bankruptcy proceedings
  • small claims
  • infant settlement approvals
  • other contested civil applications. 

His approach to civil litigation is thorough, pragmatic and client-focused. Gilbert places particular emphasis on careful preparation, clear advice, and effective courtroom advocacy. He is adept at assessing the strengths and weaknesses of a case, identifying practical routes to resolution and advancing his client’s position with precision and rigour. His experience acting for both lay and professional clients has enabled him to adapt his advocacy style to the demands of each case while maintaining a consistently high standard of representation.
