Every case that comes through TBG is supported by a team working behind the scenes to make sure it runs well. Our clerks, administrators and support staff are experienced, responsive and easy to deal with. Here is who you will be working with.

Enquiries Team

Your first point of contact

The enquiries team handles all incoming instructions. They work with solicitors and clients to understand each matter, gather what is needed and give clear guidance on next steps. From initial enquiry through to quote and instruction, they make sure every request is assessed quickly and set up correctly.

Lead Enquiries Manager

Will works closely with members and clients on diary-related enquiries across all areas of law. An experienced diary clerk, he also plays a key role in training junior clerks. His positive, professional approach is central to the quality of service TBG delivers.

John supports clients and members with diary management and new instructions across a wide range of practice areas. His approachable manner and practical mindset make him a trusted point of contact for identifying the right expertise for each case.

Megan handles diary management and enquiries, building working relationships with both barristers and clients. She joined TBG in 2021 following a Masters in Forensic Science and experience across forensic, legal and commercial settings.

Nana Owusu, Enquiries Manager at The Barrister Group

Nana Owusu

Enquiries Manager

Nana joined TBG in March 2025. He works with solicitors and barristers on new and ongoing cases across most areas of law, and is involved in business development. He previously worked at two leading London chambers specialising in construction, commercial and tax law, and holds an LLB from the University of Exeter.

Rebecca works with clients, barristers and mediators to manage enquiries and coordinate availability. She is focused on efficient, responsive service and takes care to develop strong professional relationships that support clients in finding the right barrister or mediator.

Case Management

Keeping cases moving, day to day

The case management team is the day-to-day link between solicitors, barristers and the courts. They handle bookings, chase papers, confirm listings and deal with practical issues as they arise. Their job is to keep cases moving and make sure nothing falls through the gaps.

Kylie joined TBG in 2014 following a career in hospitality including hotel management. The skills she developed there have made her a proactive problem solver and a valued member of the team. Known internally as the team's eternal optimist.

Accurate billing, handled professionally

The billing team manages the full invoicing and payment process, from issuing fees through to chasing overdue accounts. They work closely with barristers, clients and internal teams to make sure billing is accurate, timely and handled professionally. For any query about a fee or invoice, this is the team to contact.

Jane is a part-time member of the fees team, based in West London. She oversees CFA and Pay at End cases once billed, sharing the role with Louise Reed. Jane began her career in chambers in 1979 and rejoined the profession in 2012 after a period in other roles.

Louise is a part-time member of the fees team, based in Kent, sharing the role with Jane Harris. She oversees CFA and Pay at End cases. Louise started in chambers in 1997, spent time in legal software support and returned to chambers work in 2009.

Adam handles debt enforcement matters within the billing function, supporting the credit control process and managing overdue account recovery on behalf of TBG members.

Professional Standards and Direct Access

Compliance, conduct and public access

This team covers two connected areas. On the public access side, they coordinate instructions where clients work directly with a barrister without a solicitor. On the professional standards side, they oversee conduct, complaints and regulatory compliance. Together, they ensure TBG operates to a consistently high standard, both in how cases are managed and how the organisation holds itself to account.

Alexandra coordinates public access instructions where clients instruct barristers directly, without a solicitor. She manages documentation, maintains clear communication and guides matters through from initial instruction to completion.

Akinwale supports clients instructing barristers directly through TBG's public access service. He helps manage the administration and communication that sits behind each direct access instruction, ensuring clients are guided through the process clearly and efficiently.

Membership Team

Supporting TBG members

The membership team works directly with TBG barristers and mediators, supporting them in their day-to-day practice. They handle member liaison, diary coordination and the relationship management that keeps TBG running well for the people who practise through it.

Member Services Manager

Lerisa joined TBG in 2022. She manages chambers diary, coordinates between solicitors and barristers, and supports clerks with daily tasks. Before TBG, she spent 10 years as a Customer Services Manager in private maritime security, bringing strong diary management and client liaison experience.

Michaela supports TBG members with compliance obligations in regulated legal services. A 22-year qualified solicitor and director of Beyond Compliance Limited, she has delivered regulatory compliance and risk management services to barristers and solicitors for over 12 years. Her view: compliance leads to competence, which leads to clients.
