About Tanvir

Tanvir has been teaching law for more than a decade and a half, both at home and abroad. He serves as a Senior Lecturer on the Bar Training Course at the University of the West of England, Bristol, where he has extensive experience teaching core modules to students training to become barristers in the UK. He is Counsel at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, with full rights of audience to represent both the defence and victims. He was also a listed Counsel with the United Nations International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals. 

Additionally, he is an Advocate of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. He has been the Head of Chambers at 'Munim and Associates' based in Bangladesh since 2010, where he has led a team of lawyers and represented individuals, corporations, organisations, and public bodies across various courts throughout the country. His practice in Bangladesh spans multiple areas, including criminal, family, employment, international commercial, land, public, international criminal, banking, and company law. He is also a researcher in international criminal law and has published in peer-reviewed journals and blogs, as well as presented papers at various national and international seminars, talks, and symposiums.

Immigration

Immigration Law Tanvir has exerience providing legal advice and representation to clients of diverse nationalities in a wide range of immigration law matters. International Law

Tanvir is a practitioner in public international law. He serves as full Counsel at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, possessing full rights of audience to represent both the defence and victims across all stages of proceedings. His international credentials also include being a listed counsel for the United Nations International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (IRMCT) in the Hague. 

Tanvir’s extensive trial experience features serving as defence counsel in complex cases involving serious international crimes – including genocide and crimes against humanity – before the International Crimes Tribunal in Bangladesh. 

Well-versed in international criminal law, international humanitarian law, and international human rights law, he ensures that clients receive sophisticated representation rooted in a good understanding of international jurisprudence. Whether advising sovereign entities, institutional bodies, or individuals, Tanvir brings authoritative, real-world international legal acumen to every matter. He receives instructions in international criminal law, international humanitarian law, and international human rights law.

Bangladeshi Law

Tanvir is an Advocate of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, the country’s apex court. He has practiced extensively for more than fifteen years across both civil and criminal jurisdictions, appearing before all tiers of the legal system, from the lower judiciary to the Supreme Court. 

His expertise in Bangladeshi law encompasses criminal, employment, family, land, and public law – with a particular focus on writ matters. Having successfully led his own law practice as a barrister and Head of Chamber – representing individual, corporate, and public institutional clients – Tanvir brings a profound understanding of the complete Bangladeshi legal landscape. He accepts instructions across a comprehensive range of matters involving Bangladeshi law.
