About Ben

As an accredited mediator and skilled negotiator, Ben brings extensive experience to the table.

With a background as a Barrister (NZ) and Professional Company Director, Ben has successfully resolved disputes for a range of significant entities. Ben's expertise in ADR has been honed through his work across diverse sectors and jurisdictions, making him adept at handling complex commercial, contractual, regulatory, rural, sporting and employment disputes.

With a practical and results-oriented approach, Ben strives to build consensus and find common ground among parties, effectively facilitating mutually beneficial resolutions.

Ben serves on a range of specialist adjudicative and mediation panels, including appointments to the New Zealand Racing Integrity Adjudication Committees, Accident Compensation Scheme, AMINZ Rural List, NZ Farm Debt Mediation panel, and Natural Hazards Insurance dispute resolution panels.

Ben is a practising barrister of the High Court of New Zealand, barrister of England and Wales (unreg), a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors New Zealand, an Associate of AMINZ, a Professional Member of the Resolution Institute New Zealand / Australia, and a Registered Mediator with the Civil Mediation Council (UK).

He serves on specialist mediation and adjudicative panels, including AMINZ Rural Mediation, Farm Debt Mediation, Natural Hazards Insurance disputes, and Racing Integrity Board Appeals Tribunals and Adjudication Committees.

Ben is also an Adjunct Tutor for the College of Law New Zealand and Australia and a Supervisor for the College of Legal Practice (UK) LLM program.
