    Barrister Charles Davey writes for New Law Journal on a recent decision of the Court of Appeal, which found that there was no duty of care on the police to warn a victim of domestic abuse of an imminent attack on her that they expected was about to happen.

    It was thought that the victim might die from her multiple stab wounds. She was taken to hospital by helicopter and survived. The aggressor was convicted of attempted murder. A simple telephone call would have saved the victim from the attack, and her young children from witnessing it.
