Andrew Vickerstaff

Andrew qualified as a solicitor in 2005 specialising in the resolution of commercial disputes in private practice. He subsequently obtained Higher Rights of Audience and qualified as a Solicitor-Advocate in 2007 before obtaining a Post-Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law in 2009. He has more than 10 years in-house experience including operating as Sole Counsel and Head of Legal for an entrepreneurial, owner-managed SME that designed, manufactured and distributed products globally to many of the world's largest retailers. During this time, he was responsible for the management of all legal issues including various supply chain and third-party disputes.    

Andrew adopts a pragmatic and consultative style to mediation. He has been told he has calm and reassuring tone clients appreciate.

Given his commercial industry experience, he fully understands the significant time and cost involved in litigation. He encourages parties to consider both the financial and wider consequences of litigation on both businesses and individuals involved in order to help achieve the best possible outcome. As and when required, he will robustly reality test parties to seek to facilitate a settlement. 

Andrew has experience of resolving a wide variety of disputes both in the UK and internationally. He has particular experience in resolving complex cross-border commercial and IP disputes. Andrew has particular experience involving parties who are located in USA and China.
