Carolyn Townsley

Carolyn is an experienced mediator having trained in 2015 at the London School of Mediation. Her professional background is in education as a senior teaching professional. Carolyn has spent over 35 years as a secondary school teacher of art and design.

She has vast experience working with young people of all abilities but especially those with extra needs. Hr teaching has always involved creating programmes for individuals that tap into the ways they learn best. Carolyn has also used mediation widely within schools to introduce young people to its possibilities.

Carolyn has undertaken a range of community mediations over the last 9 years including supporting the work of neighbourhood agencies, housing associations, councils and the police service. 

Carolyn's experience of hosting more than 22 mediations have included disputes involving the following:

• special needs provision of children and young people
• personnel education disputes 
• neighbourhood disagreements
• police and community mediations
• boundary disputes
• noise related disputes
• small claims mediation  

She conducts common sense practical mediations creating a fair and relaxed environment for all parties. Carolyn can support parties by offering creative approaches that may not have been considered before.
