John Quigley

John mediates regularly in commercial, workplace, education and other disputes. He enjoys getting to grips with a dispute, and working with parties and lawyers towards a resolution. He knows that the mediation day is the parties’ best opportunity to settle, so puts all his energy into helping make that happen.

Before qualifying as a mediator in 2016, he helped to resolve hundreds of commercial, business, shareholder, partnership, employment and workplace disputes by negotiation, arbitration, litigation, conciliation and mediation.

Professional Background

John is an in-house lawyer in the technology industry. He provides strategic and practical advice on all aspects of data protection law and practice. He drafts and negotiates data protection terms in substantial technology transactions.  And he advises on projects involving AI legal issues.

He is  a Solicitor (England & Wales) and holds the designation Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) with the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), and is a member of the Society for Computers and Law, and the British Computer Society.

He is also an independent mediator, and mediate regularly in commercial, workplace, education and other disputes. 

John has over 30 years’ experience in London law firms (as Partner and Associate) and international organisations (as in-house solicitor) advising and representing UK and international businesses, organisations and individuals on corporate/ commercial and employment law including: mergers, acquisitions and disposals of private companies; business sales and purchases; joint ventures; professional partnerships; commercial contracts; banking/finance; secured lending; venture capital; contentious and non-contentious employment law.
