Paul's Experience

Areas of Expertise

Paul is a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors who has over 25 years of experience in the construction industry.

He is appointed on a regular basis as a Construction Adjudicator on construction disputes. In addition, since training as a Commercial Mediator with the RICS in 2011, Paul has mediated over 75 construction and property disputes.

Professional Background

Consulting as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, Paul has worked on a range of projects from a few thousand to £30 billion in the UK, Europe, and the Middle East. Paul is a highly experienced quantum expert who has provided numerous CPR 35 compliant reports and is experienced under cross-examination in the Courts.

He is regularly appointed as an expert regarding professional negligence claims against quantity surveyors, contract administrators and employer’s agents. Paul is a member of the Academy of Experts and the Expert Witness Institute, and is a practising RICS President’s Panel Construction Adjudicator and Commercial Mediator.

Mediation Style
Paul takes a facilitative approach to dispute resolution, and sees that one of the main benefits of mediation is the flexibility of the process. Every mediation is different, each with different people, different issues, different needs and interests, and all at differing stages of dispute. Paul believes that the mediation process should be designed around both the matters in dispute and the parties involved, not an exercise in shoe-horning parties into a one-size-fits-all process.
